$2,900 NASA Foreign Scholarships, 2019

In our childhood we were surprised by the sun, the moon and we learned about the rest of the planets in our solar system at least at one moment of our lives. Some of us have taken our wonder to the next level by dreaming of becoming astronauts someday.

However, even for wealthy families, providing a good college education for their children can be financially problematic. A student must obtain a bachelor’s degree in an engineering course, computer science or similar fields to take a step for space work. The annual general expenses for a university education in the field of engineering can vary from $ 15,000 to more than $ 70,000, depending on the school you attend.

However, the American Scholarship Fund of Asia and the Pacific Islands or APIASF has developed a partnership with NASA to award scholarships to qualified students seeking a bachelor’s degree. The APIASF / NASA Scholarship is awarded annually to a qualified student who is seeking any of the degree programs in the field of Engineering or Computer Science.

The winning scholarship beneficiary will receive $ 2,900 once per year for their college education. The amount of the APIASF / NASA Scholarship is already something that the families of medium or low income will appreciate for their children to obtain that degree.

However, the applicant must not only decide on any of the degree programs, since one of the necessary qualifications is that the student must study in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Science of the Computing. In addition, one must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale, be enrolled as a college student at an accredited college or university, and apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Other requirements are that the student must be a citizen of the United States, a full-time student of ethnic Asian and / or Pacific Islander.

Applications are easily made online through their website and will begin on September 4, 2018 and end on January 10, 2018 at 5:00 PM EST. Once it is completely full it must be sent electronically. The applicants will be informed according to which the finalists will be notified in April 2019, then, by May 2019, the scholars will be notified and, finally, by August 2019 the scholarships will be distributed to the students who deserve it.
